At the Gurdwara
The Anand Karaj is a sacred Sikh ceremony. We kindly ask guests to dress modestly, cover their heads, remove their shoes and silence their phones. Alcohol and tobacco are not permitted on the premises. Our wedding team will be on hand to guide you through any unfamiliar traditions.

Exploring Amritsar
Uber and private taxis are convenient ways to explore the city. We recommend allowing additional travel time during busier hours. The concierge at the Taj will be happy to assist with transport arrangements and local recommendations.

Travel Essentials
For a seamless stay, we recommend checking your travel documents and visa requirements in advance, arranging mobile connectivity and keeping some Indian Rupees (INR) on hand. We also suggest drinking sealed bottled or properly filtered water.

Can we take photos?
Of course! We'd love for you to capture all the special moments and share your favourite photos with us! Our only little request is that you hold off on posting photos of us on social media until we've had the chance to share them ourselves or receive our professional photos. We'd love to be the first to share these special memories with everyone. Thank you for helping us keep a little of the magic to ourselves until then!
When is the RSVP deadline?
Kindly RSVP by 20 November 2026 to help us finalise arrangements and ensure everyone is comfortably accommodated.
What if my plans change?
We understand that plans can change! You can update your RSVP using the code on your invitation until 20 November 2026. For any changes after this date, please contact our families directly so we can assist.
Where should we stay?
We'd love for everyone to have a comfortable and enjoyable stay! We've arranged a discounted rate at the Taj for our guests and will share the booking details with those interested once RSVPs are in. If you'd prefer to plan ahead, you're more than welcome to book directly with the Taj or arrange accommodation that suits you best. We can't wait to celebrate with you in Amritsar!
Are children welcome?
Absolutely! Your little ones are welcome at all our celebrations. For one special evening, we hope parents can enjoy a little time to themselves too! Perhaps a grandparent or family member could lend a hand later in the evening so you can dance the night away. Please include your little ones in your RSVP!
What time is the Anand Karaj?
The ceremony will begin promptly at 11:30 am, followed by lunch from 1:00 pm onwards. We would love for you to stay and celebrate with us!
What should I wear?
Each celebration has its own dress code and colour palette. Please refer to your individual event invitations for the details. We can't wait to see everyone dressed for the occasion!
Will alcohol be served?
Alcohol will be served at selected celebrations, with the exception of the Anand Karaj. Please refer to the individual event details for more information.
Is this your first Punjabi wedding?
You're in for a treat! Expect vibrant colours, meaningful traditions, delicious food, music, dancing and lots of love! We encourage you to embrace the traditions and join in the festivities. If you're ever unsure about what to do or where to go, our wedding planner and his team will be happy to guide you along the way. We can't wait to share these special celebrations with you!
Travel & stay
Most functions are at the Taj Swarna, with rooms blocked for guests travelling in. Your invitation lists the venue for every function you're invited to.
